Dr. Dre
has just turned the big 5-0. And you better believe the
multi-millionaire hip-hop svengali and entrepreneur isn't keeping quiet
about the occasion. He's celebrated his big day with an appearance on
the front page of AARP, the Magazine… which stands for the American Association of Retired Persons.
The N.W.A. co-founder looks respectable in a suit and tie and appears every bit as successful as the businessman who masterminded the multi-billion-dollar sale of Beats and topped Forbes' list for richest musicians.
Dre, who helped launch the careers of Eminem, Snoop Dogg and Kendrick Lamar, and recently showed-off his new protégé, Justin Mohrle, came in at No. 1 on Forbes' 2014 World's Highest-Paid Musicians list by raking-in a ridiculous $620 million. The bulk of that can be banked from the sale of Beats, which he co-founded, to Apple for $3 billion. In the words of AARP, he's "fearless at 50-plus."
Dre isn't the first artist to get star treatment in the pages of AARP. Bob Dylan recently gave an exclusive interview to the title, with the caveat that the magazine distribute 50,000 free copies of his new album Shadows in the Night to its readers.
