NYFW: Tessa Thompson Teaches Us How to Change Clothes in a Car

When it comes to New York Fashion Week, Selma star Tessa Thompson does not fool around. She did double duty at shows on Tuesday, going first to Rodarte in a black and red ensemble with high lace up boots and her hair down, then showing up to Jenny Packham right after wearing the designer's gold satin slip gown with a jacket over it and her hair back.

How did she manage the double looks? "Two guys, a driver and an SUV," she laughed. Yes, she admitted, she changed her clothes and her hair in the car and attempted to shield her body from oncoming traffic. Her stylists Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald served as the "two guys," and are spending fashion week with the actress before a whirlwind Oscars weekend (she's hit Rodarte's after party on Tuesday night with plans to sit front row at Marchesa on Wednesday before attending a Barneys dinner and New York Magazine's relaunch fete).

So just what advice do the L.A.-based style makers -- who also count Selma director Ava DuVernay as a client -- have for those who need to, uh, make a quick change from the comfort of a backseat?
