Philadelphia police have upgraded the charges facing a suspect in the fatal stabbing of a member of Nicki Minaj's road crew. Pierce Boykin, 31, is now in custody on a murder warrant, Philadelphia police confirmed to Billboard.
Boykin was arrested Feb. 23 and hit with a variety of charges related to the incident that left one member of Minaj's road crew (De'Von Pickett) dead and another (Eric Parker) in critical condition.
Recently, the charges were upgraded to include murder. When Boykin was arrested on Feb. 23, police indicated the charges against him might be upgraded in the future.
According to ABC's Philly outlet, the fight was reportedly over a woman who worked at a bar. A verbal altercation at the bar turned into a fight outside the venue, where the stabbing occurred.
"These guys flew into Philly for my tour rehearsals 2 days ago and were both stabbed last night," Minaj wrote after the incident. "Condolences to your family. Unbelievable. Eric is recovering. Another senseless act of violence that took the life of a great guy. So sad."
